School Educational Programs at Symbio Wildlife Park

Symbio Wildlife Park offers engaging, curriculum-linked education experiences designed to bring learning to life through close encounters with wildlife, conservation messaging, and hands-on discovery.

Schools can choose between two flexible program options:

Ranger Jamie Tours (Fully Guided Experience)

Self-Guided School Visits

Both options are designed to inspire curiosity, deepen understanding of animals and ecosystems, and create a memorable day out for students of all ages.

Ranger Jamie Tours – Fully Guided School Program

Symbio Wildlife Park has partnered with specialist educational provider Ranger Jamie Tours to deliver a unique, fully guided school experience unlike anything else in Australia.

As the only zoological institution in Australia offering this specialised program, Symbio provides students with an immersive, expertly delivered learning journey led by trained science and education professionals.

Each excursion runs as a full-day program (10:00am – 2:00pm) and is guided by a Ranger Jamie Tours educator, with a ratio of 1 guide per 35 students.

The day includes:

  • A live animal presentation in an intimate amphitheatre setting
  • Interactive, curriculum-linked learning activities
  • Educational games designed to reinforce key conservation concepts
  • Guided exploration of Symbio’s animal collection and habitats

This program combines structured learning with fun, hands-on experiences that keep students engaged from start to finish.

Self-Guided School Visits

For schools seeking flexibility and autonomy, our Self-Guided Program allows teachers to design and deliver their own educational experience at Symbio Wildlife Park.

Explore the park at your own pace while engaging students in real-world learning opportunities across animal biology, conservation, biodiversity, and environmental science. This option is ideal for educators who prefer to tailor the day to specific curriculum outcomes, age groups, and classroom learning priorities.

As the group is self-guided, schools will not receive a private presentation as part of their visit. However, groups are more than welcome to attend any of our scheduled public presentations throughout the day, providing additional opportunities to enhance student learning through keeper talks and animal encounters.

Students may purchase cold drinks, ice creams, and snacks from the kiosk, provided they are under the supervision of school staff. School staff are also welcome to place orders for hot drinks and lunch if they wish, allowing for a comfortable and flexible experience throughout the day.

GST can be claimed back in its entirety as this excursion is an education service. Price excludes Transport Minimum of 35 students per booking for RJT
